Roy G. Reimche, a life-long resident of Lodi, CA, quietly laid down
his cane for the final time on February 7, 2008, and is now walking
on the most beautiful property with his Heavenly Father.
He was born to his parents, Ted and Edna (Kliewer) Reimche, on
August 13, 1929 in Lodi. He graduated from Lodi Union High School
where he played the trumpet in the Honor Band, attended College of
the Pacific in Stockton. He met his best friend at a church youth
group meeting, and in 1951 was married to Peggy Featherston.
Roy loved his God, his family, his country, his community, and
proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict as a
Dental Technician while stationed in Hawaii. While serving in the
Navy he also showed his fighting spirit by being on the boxing team.
He was a member of Vinewood Community Church in Lodi, he had a
special dedication and love for the Salvation Army and their
mission.
Roy's employment choices always revealed a servants heart by his
chosen activities. He served on many boards and committees at
churches he attended, he had a fighting spirit for himself and for
others, always thinking about others before himself.
Roy worked as a Realtor in Lodi for the past 27 years, and was
honored by his colleagues by being chosen as Lodi's Realtor of the
Year in 2007. He was a member of Lodi Association of Realtors, Lodi
District Chamber of Commerce, and National Association of Realtors.
Roy also found time to be a Dale Carnegie instructor, and lived the
motto, "Act enthusiastic and you will BE enthusiastic." He enjoyed
playing dominoes and pinocle, and was an avid S.F. 49ers and
Sacramento Kings fan. He had a love of life, showed his sense of
humor, and known to be a practical joker.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Reimche of Lodi;
daughter, Kathryn J. Campbell of Souix Falls, SD, daughter and
husband, Diane M. and Paul Wilbur of Lodi; eight grandchildren:
Matthew, Mary Beth, Philip, David, A.J., Andrew, Jordan, and Alex;
his dog, "Sam" and many friends.
